I am surrounded by many business people recently. And one think I observed was that they valued 'growth' before anything. However, from my experience, growth is not the only thing a business needs. Sometimes, you grow from 5 million to 10 million and end up in more debt than before. From one perspective, growth can mean expansion of tax, cost, staffs' incentive, and many more.
I do business the feminine way, which means, I trust in my gut feeling about when to expand that business. Some people (mostly men) who saw me doing business would suggest I expand fast and never stop. But I think the different way. I always make sure that the backend of my office is ready for expansion before expanding business. And I audit the backend from time to time. This is to make sure that the business does not become that giant that we cannot control.
Still, many business people put so much value on never-ending expansion, which, I define as the overly masculine way. Women tend to be connected with feelings and emotion, especially, the gut feeling more than men. Our world tends to be the world of energy and the unmanifested that cannot be explained by words. Therefore, we, as the carrier of feminine power, should trust the inner guidance and wisdom, which were overlooked by this overly masculine world. I think, with the feminine way of doing business, we will thrive in a way that we will not lose who we are.
Sometimes, each project launch feels like a birth delivery. It needs incubation, patience, and perfect timing. When I did the projects this way, I feel more at ease than accelerating everything, and this is how the things (not only business) should operate - wait for the upstream, and then let yourself be carried by the upstream without needing to struggle to much.
